Newly elected JNU President Left’s Dhananjay defeated ABVP’s Umesh Chandra Ajmeera
JNU Students Union Election Result: In the JNU student elections, the Left Student Union won four seats. In the JNU Students’ Union election, Dhananjay, representing the Left, secured victory as the President by defeating ABVP’s Umesh Chandra Ajmeera. Shailendra Kumar, the Chairperson of the Election Committee (CEC) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), announced the results, stating, That Dhananjay (Left) has been declared elected for the post of President with 2598 votes, while Umesh Chandra Ajmeera (ABVP) received 1676 votes. Despite the joint leftist alliance comprising AISA, DSF, SFI, and AISF uniting against them to defeat ABVP, the latter performed remarkably well in the JNU Students’ Union elections, securing a substantial percentage of votes.

Avijit Ghosh was elected as vice president. Shailendra Kumar, the Chairperson of the Election Committee (CEC) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), announced the results for the Vice President position, stating, “Avijit Ghosh (Left) has been declared elected with 2409 votes. The other candidates were Ankur Rai with 814 votes and Deepika Sharma (ABVP) with 1482 votes.”

In the recently concluded JNU Students’ Union election, Priyanshi Arya, supported by BAPSA Left, emerged victorious as the General Secretary. She secured a total of 2887 votes. Shailendra Kumar, the Chairperson of the Election Committee (CEC) at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), officially announced her win, stating, “Priyanshi Arya (BAPSA, Left Supported) has been declared elected for the post of General Secretary, having received 2887 votes. Other candidates for the position were Arjun Anand (ABVP) with 1961 votes and Fareen Zaidi with 436 votes.”
