Pushpa, a labourer earning meagre wages, harbours aspirations of a lavish lifestyle akin to royalty. However, his dreams are repeatedly shattered by his stepbrothers, who disdain him for being the illegitimate offspring of their father. Opportunity knocks when Pushpa secures a job in the dense forests where red sanders are illegally trafficked abroad. Despite constant surveillance by DSP Govindappa, Pushpa defies all odds and becomes a thorn in the side of law enforcement. His daring actions catch the attention of the notorious Reddy Brothers – Konda Reddy, Jakka Reddy, and Jolly Reddy – known for their involvement in red sanders smuggling.
Pushpa’s cunning manoeuvres allow him to outsmart DSP and his team, earning him favour with Konda Reddy. Embracing his newfound lifestyle, Pushpa sets his sights on marrying Srivelli. However, his stepbrothers cruelly expose his mother’s past relationship with their father, leading to the cancellation of the wedding. Undeterred, Pushpa resolves to ascend even higher and discovers that Mangalam Sinu, a syndicate member, is shortchanging the Reddy gang in their share of profits from the smuggling operation.
Seeing an opening, Konda Reddy gives Pushpa the responsibility of making things right, even though he is aware that Pushpa’s intervention could lead to hostilities between rival gangs. In an attempt to gain control, Pushpa, who is fearless and resolute, takes matters into his own hands and causes arguments and tensions between the two factions.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is expected to be released in August 2024.
